Does Sun Bum Chapstick Have SPF?
The Sun Bum range includes lip balms with and without SPF. Since SPF can help protect the skin from sun damage, choosing a lip balm with added sunscreen is a good idea if you spend a lot of time in the sun. Sun Bum lip balm SPF30 is a good choice for outdoor activities as it provides broad-spectrum sun protection as well as long-lasting hydration. Containing SPF15, Sun Bum Tinted lip balm provides a lower level of sun protection. Sun Bum CocoBalm doesn't contain SPF, so it's best used on days with a low chance of sun exposure.
What Ingredients Are in Sun Bum Lip Balm?
Sun Bum chapsticks are formulated with aloe, a botanical ingredient frequently used in after-sun care due to its soothing properties, and vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damage. Sun Bum Tinted lip balm also includes iron oxides, compounds that are commonly used to add color to cosmetics.
The original and tinted Sun Bum lip balms contain avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate and octocrylene. These ingredients are used to add sun protection to cosmetics.
Sun Bum’s extra-moisturizing lip balm, Sun Bum CocoBalm, contains a hydrating blend of coconut oil, jojoba seed oil and cocoa butter.
Is Sun Bum Lip Balm Safe?
Sun Bum is committed to removing ingredients that are harmful to people or the planet. All Sun Bum lip balms are free of parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde and retinyl palmitate.
All Sun Bum products are cruelty-free and free from gluten. Some products in the range include beeswax, but Sun Bum sunscreen lip balm is vegan-friendly.
In accordance with Hawaii Act 104, Sun Bum lip balm doesn't contain oxybenzone or octinoxate, two chemicals that are thought to be damaging to coral reefs.
