FAQ and Privacy Information
The Privacy Authorization allows CVS Pharmacy® to record the prescription earnings of each person who joins the ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards program.
A separate authorization is necessary for each person who joins ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards. Adults 18 years and older must sign individually; parents or guardians can sign for children under 18.
When you first join, your pharmacy record will load your ExtraCare number to link (it won't contain any medical information about the prescription) back to the ExtraCare account. If necessary, your contact information (including your full name, address and phone numbers) will be used to update the ExtraCare account. After you join, your contact information will be used to communicate with you about ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards benefits, related new programs and offers.
In addition, each program member sharing the same ExtraCare card will be identified separately for the accumulation of Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards. To calculate rewards, ExtraCare will receive the quantity of prescriptions purchased, immunizations administered and other actions that count toward rewards for each of you.
Please note: Because CVS Pharmacy is serious about your privacy, we will let you know what additional health information will be part of any new programs under ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards and ask you to join that particular program. This additional information won't be used or shared if you don't join.
No. Household members sharing the same ExtraCare card will only be able to see the membership status for those who have joined, how many credits and rewards have been earned, and how they were earned. Specific medication information will not be visible.
CVS Pharmacy will use the prescription number, store number, date of birth and ExtraCare card number to properly match online users with ExtraCare membership to ensure that earnings and rewards are recorded for the correct person.
Your signed authorization is valid for 5 years. You'll need to sign again after 5 years to maintain enrollment and continue earning within the ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards program.
Canceling your Privacy Authorization will automatically end your membership in ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards. You will no longer earn ExtraBucks Rewards for your prescription purchases. Opt Out
No. The Privacy Authorization you signed will remain in effect for 5 years from the date it was signed. You'll continue to earn under the ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards program until your Privacy Authorization expires. At that point, you'll need to sign again to stay in the program and keep earning.
How to join
No. You just need your existing card.
No. In order to protect your privacy, you must have an ExtraCare card to join. Your ExtraCare number is a unique number tied to your ExtraCare membership; phone numbers are not unique across all cards.

Your rewards
You are part of a special pilot program that began on June 1, 2020. In this pilot program the value of each Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards credit is the same but you are able to earn rewards more quickly, receiving $2 Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards after earning 4 credits rather than $5 Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards after earning 10 credits. Your credit balance from the previous program will transfer and be paid out in the new program based on the number of credits earned as of June 1, 2020. You can still earn up to $50 Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards in a calendar year in this program. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please call 1-800-SHOP CVS.
Yes. Your earnings will be applied to the ExtraCare card that was used when you joined the program.
No. While you earn credits individually, the rewards will be paid out once the combined total of credits on the card reaches 10.
$5 Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards will be issued approximately 1 week after every 10 credits have been earned. Rewards will print on the receipt or at the ExtraCare Coupon Center. They're also available on CVS.com. (You'll need to have or create an online account and attach your ExtraCare card to it.)
They can be used on most items throughout the store. They cannot be used to purchase alcohol, lottery, money orders, prescriptions and copays, pseudoephedrine/ephedrine products, postage stamps, prepaid cards, gift cards, newspapers and magazines, milk (where required by law or regulation), bottle deposits, bus passes, hunting and fishing licenses, any imposed governmental fees, or items reimbursed by a government health plan.
The $50 limit is only for rewards earned from the ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards program.
