    1. Make sure the power switch and control knob is in the “off" position. 2. Remove the water reservoir lid and remove it from the appliance. 3. Fill the glass carafe based on how much coffee you would like. Pour the water into the reservoir. Place the cover on the glass carafe and place it into position on the drip plate. 4. Screw on the water reservoir lid tightly so steam doesn't escape during brewing process. 5. Remove the filter basket and holder from the appliance. With the measuring spoon, measure the proper amount of espresso ground coffee and place into the filter basket, packing but not too firmly. 6. Place filter basket into filter holder by inserting the filter holder into the brewing head by pushing it upward so it is aligned with the matching slots. Turn the handle until securely locked. 7. Switch the power button to on position and the control knob to “brew". 8. Espresso coffee will flow into the carafe. 9. Do not open the lid to the water reservoir or remove the filter holder during the brewing process. Scolding may occur. 10. When the coffee has stopped flowing into the carafe, turn the control knob to the “off" position. 11. Prior to removing the lid on the water reservoir or filter holder, turn the control knob to the full steam position and wait until all steam is released from the nozzle. Then turn the control know to the “off" position.
    FILTER HOLDER MUST BE ATTACHED SECURELY, IN THE LOCKED POSITION, BEFORE USE TO AVOID UNINTENTIONAL DISLODGING DURING BREW PROCESS WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE OR INJURY.Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during or immediately after the brewing cycles. Contents may be hot. Allow it to cool before opening the lid. To avoid possible burns to body part and/or other injury from hot steam and water, NEVER open the Water Reservoir Cap or remove filter holder while your espresso maker is turned on or if there is pressure in the water reservoir. Always be sure the Water Reservoir Cap is tightened securely before turning the appliance on. DO NOT attempt to unscrew Water Reservoir Cap OR remove Filter Holder without releasing pressure first. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electrical shock or injury. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Do not use outdoors. To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury, do not immerse cords, plugs or the appliance in water or any other liquid. Use only water in this appliance. Do not put any other liquids or foods in the water reservoir. To disconnect the espresso maker, remove the power plug from the power supply. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or is damaged in any manner. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter or touch hot surfaces. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Do not use appliances for anything other than intended use. Place the espresso maker on a hard, flat, level surface to avoid interruption of airflow underneath. This carafe must never be used on a range top or in any oven, including a microwave oven. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
