[Piano Playing]

[Singing] If you’re happy and you know it. If you’re happy and you know it, say amen. Amen!

[Gentle Piano Music Up and Under]

My name is Melvin Amos and I am 75 years old. I've been playing the piano since I was eight. I've been directing choirs since I was 13, and I teach music. I also am a van driver for an after-school program, and I enjoy what I'm doin’.

Oak Street was a new facility. When I went to them. I wasn't in the best shape at all. I hadn’t been taking my meds. I went back to do blood work, and that's when I found out that my blood sugar was like 509. I did not know that you know my blood sugar was that high.

[Gentle Guitar Music With Piano]

This doctor at Oak Street was more concerned about your health, and that's what she stressed all during the conversation. She says, “I'm here to get you on track and to make sure that you're as healthy as you can be”.

That impressed me. You know, I just started doing the right thing because of Oak Street, and I can't thank them enough for really saving my life. I feel better now, at the age of 75, than I have felt in a long time. Yeah, I really do.

So that just encouraged me to continue to take my medicine, to exercise and change my diet. I feel better. I get around much better. And the aches and pains that I used to have, I don't have that anymore. But I can get up in the morning and I feel great.

Once you get to a certain age, everything changes and you need to recognize that fact. Oak Street concentrates on each individual and what they're going through. They are a great place to go if you’re a senior citizen.

They're there to make sure that you're in good health.
